In 2023, NPLA participated in a cooperative pilot study with the Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations (FOCA) to use eDNA to detect the presence of the aquatic invasive species, Water Soldier (Stratiotes aloides). Results for Pigeon Lake (negative) and all other sampled lakes, as well as an explanation of eDNA is in the following report:
