Boyd Island news:

We are passing on this message from the Kawartha Land Trust for your information Thank you…Janet Klein, President, NPLRA:

As noted in our most recent e-newsletter, Big (Boyd/Chiminis) Island is now owned and protected for future generations by Kawartha Land Trust.
We are committed to protecting the island in its natural state.
A Management Team for the Island has been established, has been meeting and, as promised, has begun reaching out to the community for input.
A number of events and activities are being planned on and around the island. Stay tune for more details!
Kawartha Land Trust is aware that there has been some question as to whether or not camping and fires will be allowed on the island. The Management Team is currently examining the issues, including but not limited to insurance, surrounding camping and fires. In the meantime, camping and fires are NOT permitted on the island.
When visiting Big (Boyd) Island home to abundant wildlife, fish and significant plant life species, including a number of species at risk, we ask that you tread lightly. Please note that visitors to the island do so at their own risk.
Alcohol, hunting, firearms and motorized vehicles are PROHIBITED.
Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

The Kawartha Land Trust Team!
